With a long season entering its final stages, Leeds United will be without a number of players for this weekend’s meeting with Brighton & Hove Albion at Elland Road.
Despite having a handful of his squad sidelined through injury, manager Daniel Farke still expects to be able to field a competitive side to face the Seagulls on home soil.
“Bit tricky situation perhaps,” the boss told the media at Thorp Arch. “The most difficult situation that we had during the whole season.
“We can do this with a smile because we have already achieved our big goal but, of course, it is not ideal. Obviously, Ilia Gruev is out for the season. We spoke about this.
“Noah Okafor is not available for this game. Gabi Gudmundsson is not available for this game. Jayden Bogle is not available for this game. Facundo Buonanotte not eligible to play.
“Then we have also Pascal Struijk, not in training yet after the last game. Big doubt if he is available. Ethan Ampadu struggling with illness currently. Also, major doubt, was not in training today. So, a few question marks.
“But so far, we always found some solutions also to send a competitive side on the pitch. And this is also what we tried to do in our last home game. And of course, want to finish as strong as possible and also with the best possible result.
“And I back my whole group and I back my players also in this circumstance, still to deliver one more top performance here at home and then hopefully also on the last game day. We will work on solutions to be competitive.”
