'Every win is a step closer to where we want to be' - Drew Greene previews Sunday's top-two meeting

Winger speaks ahead of tough test.

Drew Greene pre-Fylde Oct 15 Warmup

Leeds United Women are preparing for a huge game this weekend as they travel to Kellamergh Park to face AFC Fylde in the FA Women’s National League Division One North.

The Whites have made an outstanding start to the campaign, winning all 10 of their matches so far, and will be looking to maintain their perfect record against a Fylde side who have dropped points just once in the league this season.

Ahead of the game, winger Drew Greene spoke to leedsunited.com.

“We are really looking forward to the game on Sunday,” she began. “Every week we prepare in training for our opponents and look at the areas we did well previously, as well as where we can improve.

“Every week is the next biggest game, no matter who it’s against.

“Beating anyone we come up against contributes to where we want to be at the end of the season. This is now the next biggest game we have, and after that, it will be next week.

“Fylde are a strong team who have started well this season, so we know it’s going to be a tough battle, but coming away with three points is the main aim for this game and the rest.”

Greene also highlighted the importance of maintaining United’s momentum, with the squad determined to extend their impressive winning run.

“We have started the season really well and really want to keep it going for as long as possible,” the winger added.

“We have a really good group and lots of quality, which is really helping us maintain momentum, as we all have the same goal.

“Sunday is going to be a tough challenge and a big game, which we are all prepared for.”
