Information for supporters travelling to Stamford Bridge

Extra information for midweek clash.

Stamford Bridge Chelsea Sep 07 Away End

Leeds United travel to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea in the EFL Cup on Wednesday and we would like to thank every fan that will be making the journey to support the team.

Ahead of the match, it is important that all supporters understand that the ‘rent boy’ chant is a homophobic slur and hate crime. It was made a prosecutable offence by the Crown Prosecution Service in January 2022, the main public agency for prosecuting crimes in England and Wales. Following the decision of the Crown Prosecution Service making it a prosecutable offence for anyone to sing or use the words, the FA communicated to all its clubs its intention to pursue formal disciplinary action relating to the chant in January 2023. The FA said: “The Football Association now considers this specific chant to amount to a breach of FA Rules and reserve the right to pursue formal disciplinary action against any club whose supporters engage in such behaviour going forward. “Clubs at all levels of English football have a responsibility to ensure their spectators conduct themselves in an orderly fashion when attending matches and we thank you for your assistance in relation to this matter.”

If you hear it, report it. During the match text 88777 or 07894 93 77 93, with the stand, row, seat number, description of the offender and incident. After the match call 0207 386 3355 or email reporthate@chelseafc.com, or please use the online form to report it.

Please see below some pieces of information to take into consideration ahead of travelling.

Plan your journey early:

  • Whether you’re travelling by train/car/bus make sure you leave with plenty of time to spare before the game. Supporters are advised to arrive no later than 60 minutes before kick-off (8pm).

  • As Stamford Bridge is located in a busy residential area, parking is limited and often reserved. Chelsea therefore recommend utilising public transport, notably tube or train, or the bus.

  • There is a limited amount of coach parking located on Imperial Road. This parking is approximately a 10 to 15 minute walk from the ground. Please book coach parking here selecting the options available throughout the form.

Opening times:

  • Away Ticket Office - 4.30pm

  • Turnstiles - 6.30pm

Know the stadium layout and policies:

  • Access to the away seating is via Dickie’s Deck, to the left of the East Stand concourse. There is a railed ramp to get up to the accessible entrance which will take you to the accessible platform. Stewards will be at the entrance to assist with tickets and entrance needs.

  • A full range of refreshments, including alcohol, will be available for purchase at the kiosks on the concourse. Stamford Bridge is a cashless stadium and only card payments will be accepted.

  • None of the pubs surrounding Stamford Bridge allow away supporters. Please bare in mind the nearest pubs that do are around a 25-minute walk away.

Stay safe:

  • Keep yourself and others as safe as possible at all times, especially during any match incidents and both pre-match and at half-time in the concourses.

  • Remember that throwing objects and the use of flares, pyrotechnics and smoke bombs are strictly forbidden. Remain in the seat you have purchased, and refrain from standing on your seats and blocking aisles in the away section.

  • All supporters will be searched thoroughly before entering the stadium.
