In the Emirates FA Cup quarter-final tie with West Ham United, Brazilian shot stopper Lucas Perri provided the heroics before Pascal Struijk fired the Whites into the semi-finals of this year’s edition of the prestigious competition.
Ahead of the last four clash with Chelsea at Wembley Stadium, the goalkeeper spoke to the media to share his thoughts on Sunday’s fixture.
“I have had a couple of good matches so I am happy to help the team with the opportunities that I have got. I am looking forward to the semi-final, of course.
"As a whole, I believe this is a great opportunity for the club to be back in the semi-finals after a long period of time so in general it is a good feeling! It is incredible for the club. It will be an amazing feeling and we are looking forward to it.”
The Whites have enjoyed their two meetings with the Blues this season, having taken four points from the two Premier League fixtures. Perri, however, is under no illusions as to the task at hand under the arch.
“They have incredible players,” he added. “We are going to have a difficult match but we can do it. Everything is possible in football so we have to believe.
“We are close to the our goals for the season. We are not done yet but we are in a very good position. The club reaching the semi-finals is an incredible achievement.”
