Officials revealed ahead of Arsenal encounter

Appointments made for Saturday’s fixture.

Generic Referee Premier League

The officials for Saturday’s Premier League match with Arsenal have been announced, with Paul Tierney set to take charge at the Emirates.

The vastly experienced referee is now in his 12th season in England’s top-flight, in which time he has been in the middle of 197 fixtures. So far this campaign, the 45-year-old has overseen five games, two of which were in the Premier League.

In 25 encounters to involve Tierney, the Whites have won 10 and drawn three. Most recently, it proved to be a memorable evening at Old Trafford as a Noah Okafor brace fired Daniel Farke’s side to a 2-1 victory over rivals Manchester United.

Saturday’s hosts, meanwhile, have a similar record from the 23 matches refereed by the official, winning 11 and losing six. Last time out, Arsenal’s 1-0 win over Burnley in last term’s penultimate fixture effectively sealed the Premier League title for the Gunners.

Running the touchlines are Richard West and Steven Meredith with Oliver Langford appointed as Fourth Official. Keeping up with the action from Stockley Park is VAR Tony Harrington and Additional VAR Nick Greenhalgh.
