Leeds United Women are back in FA Women’s National League Division One North action on Sunday afternoon, as they welcome Chester-le-Street Ladies to the Bannister Prentice Stadium.

The clash is an opportunity for Simon Wood’s side to leapfrog league-leaders Huddersfield Town Women to top the table, with only goal difference currently separating the sides. The visitors sit ninth in the table, fourteen points behind the Whites.

United are coming off the back of a thrilling 4-0 win away at Chorley Women, delivered thanks to goals from Ellie White, Chloe Dixon, Brittany Sanderson and Sian Gibrill-Keating.

In the reverse fixture, Leeds ran out 2-0 winners thanks to an early opener from Alice Hughes, and a late penalty from Kath Smith secured all three points in the Whites' first fixture on the road this campaign.

Ahead of the game, Whites' winger Drew Greene said: "“We’re really looking forward to the game against Chester-le-Street on Sunday. It’ll be nice to get back in to league action and hopefully pick up three points.

"We have really amazing home support so were really looking forward to seeing and hearing the fans too and it’ll be nice to be back."
