Leeds United Under-18s continue their FA Youth Cup campaign Monday night with a Fourth Round fixture against Swansea City Under-18s at the LNER Community Stadium.
Ahead of the clash with the South Wales side, young Whites boss Rob Etherington spoke exclusively to leedsunited.com.
“Prep has been good, the mood has been good as ever,” he said. “There is always a bit of excitement around the club and the academy about the Youth Cup, so the players are up for it and excited, looking forward to the game.
“We are having a look at Swansea. I think they are a good side. I think they are different to other challenges that we have had.
“They have a clear style of play. You can see what type of football they want to play and how they want to impose themselves on the game and I think they have some good individuals.
“They want to take the game to the opposition with the ball, so we are going to have to be very vigilant when we do not have it.
“We have to be aggressive in the right moments. We have got to look after the ball when we have it. I think it is a good side. It will be a good challenge for us. The focus is on ourselves and trying to impose ourselves on the game as much as possible.
“It is a prestigious competition,” the boss added. “This is something that the football club has got good pedigree in and ultimately, it is an opportunity that gives all our players a better chance of playing for our first team.”
