Karl Darlow was voted Leeds United’s Hisense Player of the Match following an impressive display in the Whites’ dramatic 2-2 draw with Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.
The goalkeeper, who played the full 90 minutes, delivered a composed and assured performance between the posts, earning 40 per cent of the supporter vote. He finished ahead of Pascal Struijk (29%), with Ethan Ampadu and Sean Longstaff both receiving 6%.
Darlow’s contribution proved vital in a contest that swung from end to end, with the stopper making five important saves to keep Leeds in the game. He also commanded his area well, producing two punches and a high claim under pressure from the hosts.
Comfortable in possession, Darlow registered 52 touches and completed 17 accurate passes, helping Leeds build from the back. His all-round involvement was further reflected in six carries, covering a total distance of 16.9 metres.
Defensively, he added four key contributions, including three clearances, while also showing alertness to gather loose balls, making 16 recoveries across the match. He contested one duel during the encounter.
Leeds looked set to leave the south coast empty-handed before a dramatic late twist saw Sean Longstaff fire home a 97th-minute equaliser, securing a point in stoppage time.
While the late goal will take the headlines, Darlow’s consistent performance throughout the 90 minutes laid the foundation for Leeds to remain in contention, ultimately earning him the Hisense Player of the Match accolade.
