Dominic Calvert-Lewin featured for England as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Uruguay in a fiesty friendly at Wembley Stadium.
In front of a crowd of 80,581, a tightly-contested encounter looked set to be decided late on when former Leeds United defender Ben White broke the deadlock in the 81st minute.
However, there was late drama in stoppage time as Federico Valverde converted from the penalty spot in the 93rd minute to ensure the spoils were shared.
England, managed by Thomas Tuchel, were made to work throughout against a Uruguay side led by former Leeds United head coach Marcelo Bielsa, returning to Wembley in the opposition dugout.
Calvert-Lewin was introduced in the 56th minute, replacing Dominic Solanke, and made a lively contribution in the final half-hour. The Leeds United forward recorded eight touches, completed two passes, and registered two shots, while also winning two duels and making a tackle as England pushed for a winner.
England are next in action on Tuesday 31 March, when they return to Wembley to face Japan.
