Anton Stach made a late cameo as Germany secured a thrilling 4-3 victory over Switzerland in an international friendly at St. Jakob-Park.
The Leeds United midfielder was introduced in the 80th minute, replacing Leon Goretzka, with the contest finely poised at 3-3.
Stach was quickly involved as Germany pushed for a winner, registering six touches during his time on the pitch. The 27-year-old completed all four of his passes with 100% accuracy, added a shot, and contributed defensively with a recovery as his side pressed forward in the closing stages.
Just five minutes after his introduction, Germany found the decisive goal. Florian Wirtz struck in the 85th minute to cap an entertaining encounter and seal the victory for the hosts.
Stach’s brief but efficient contribution ensured he played his part in a dramatic finish, maintaining composure in possession and supporting Germany’s late attacking push.
Germany now turn their attention to their next fixture, where they will host Ghana at the MHP Arena on Monday.
