Leeds United secured a late 1-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon, picking up three points as they took to Elland Road for the final time this season.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored his 14th goal of the season in the 96th minute as he capitalised on a defensive mix-up and rolled the ball into the back of the net to give the Whites a late lead.

After the match, Daniel Farke said: "It sums up our season and sums up also the group of players that we have and the perfect fitting ending to a fantastic season for us here in the home game.

"Brighton, especially in the second half, they were the more dominant side. But we also wanted to save the game and want to defend our clean sheet and also never stopped also believing that there would be this one or two chances, perhaps, where we could score a goal and to do it that late.

"And then also with such a composed finish of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, and I'm just happy that we are able to spoil our supporters in the final home game also with another clean sheet win and they can celebrate this season also with a perfect fitting finish and style.

"I know that in the last decade, we had also many, many years of suffering, and for me this fan base is really second to none, not just in this country, but in the football world," the boss added on the phenomenal backing his side has received this season.

"They can carry a team. Yeah, they are the most important asset of Leeds United and this is important also for the future. Never to forget this.

"When Leeds United is united, really from the first to the last person, then this club can develop a force and an energy which is really second to none in world football. And this is what we're doing at the moment. And I'm just pleased that we gave really the pride and the belief and the joy to our supporters back. And yeah, long may it continue."

On his squad's mentality: "If you want to represent Leeds United, then you have to work exactly in this way. We are all privileged and lead a privileged life, and the players lead a privileged life. And I'm in a fantastic position to be allowed to represent this shirt.

"And if it's whatever, a Champions League final, if it's a friendly anyhow, you have the responsibility to represent this club in the best way. And yeah, the players we have fully understand this, and these are the values, and it says a lot about their mentality and which human beings they are."
