Ahead of Leeds United’s visit to the Vitality Stadium to face AFC Bournemouth, manager Daniel Farke is confident Nico Elvedi will be available for selection.

The Swiss international defender missed the trip to Sunderland last time out through illness but is in contention to return to the squad after making a swift recovery.

“Nico is way better,” the boss explained at Thorp Arch. “He is back in training. As it stands, he is available for this game.

“Also, a good training week for Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Noah Okafor. They had a normal training week. It seems if nothing happens, they are also fully available.

“Anton Stach is struggling still a bit with his foot injury so, yeah, let’s see. I hope it will get better in the next 48 hours. That is a bit of a question mark.”

Farke also gave a positive update on mid-term absentee Joe Rodon, who is edging closer to a return to the action following a hamstring injury.

“And also some good news with Joe. He is since yesterday part-integrated back in team training, [taking] the next steps in his rehab right now.

“He just needs session after session after being out for so long but a way better situation than it was last week. So probably too soon for this weekend but sooner rather than later.”
