James Justin was named Hisense Player of the Match after producing a commanding all-round display in Leeds United’s 3-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers at Elland Road.
The 28-year-old summer signing from Leicester City set the tone for the afternoon with a moment of real quality, opening the scoring in the 18th minute with a stunning overhead kick that lifted the home crowd and put Leeds United firmly in control.
Further goals from Noah Okafor and Dominic Calvert-Lewin ensured Daniel Farke’s side secured all three points, continuing their strong run of form in the league.
Justin’s contribution, however, extended far beyond his spectacular opener. Operating with composure and authority, he completed the full 90 minutes and was influential at both ends of the pitch. He registered 81 touches and completed 37 accurate passes, helping Leeds maintain control throughout.
Defensively, the full-back was equally impressive, recording 17 defensive contributions. His display included four tackles, three interceptions, and six clearances, alongside a crucial last-man tackle that underlined his awareness and timing. He also won nine duels and made one recovery, showcasing his physical presence and work rate.
Going forward, Justin remained a constant outlet, making six carries covering a total distance of 58.5 metres, further highlighting his ability to drive the team up the pitch.
Supporters recognised his standout performance, awarding him 37 per cent of the vote to claim the Hisense Player of the Match accolade. Okafor followed with 16 per cent, alongside Ao Tanaka on the same mark, while Karl Darlow collected 11 per cent.
The victory sees Leeds extend their advantage over Tottenham Hotspur to eight points, while also closing the gap to Newcastle United in 14th to just three points, underlining the importance of another dominant performance at Elland Road.
