Leeds United vs Tottenham Hotspur: Team news, key stats and everything you need to know

A look ahead to Saturday’s action.

Elland Road Sept 26 Norman Hunter Stand

Leeds United will be keen to get back to winning ways on Saturday lunchtime as they welcome Tottenham Hotspur to Elland Road.

The Whites fell to defeat for just the second time this campaign last time out at AFC Bournemouth. Daniel Farke’s side dominated the opening stages and thought they had taken the lead through Dominic Calvert-Lewin, until VAR chalked the goal off after the ball had struck the England international’s hand.

A mistake at the back then saw the Cherries take the lead and as United threw everything forward in search of an equaliser, the hosts added a second on the break.

Prior to that one on the south coast, Leeds had earned a valuable point on Wearside with a goalless draw against Sunderland. In an encounter hampered by the conditions, neither team were able to break the deadlock as the defences came out on top.

Leeds sit 12th in the standings after those results, one point adrift of a resurgent Spurs side. After surviving on the final day of the season last campaign, there was a big overhaul to the squad in the summer and, understandably, the new faces needed time to settle in under Roberto De Zerbi.

Having struggled for form in their opening few games, the London outfit have since picked up three victories in a row heading into Saturday’s encounter.

That run started with a 3-1 win over Coventry City on home soil, before a rare success at Stamford Bridge saw Spurs beat rivals Chelsea 2-0. Last time out, goals from former United youngster Archie Gray and defender Jan Paul van Hecke proved enough against Crystal Palace.

The most recent meeting between the two sides came towards the end of the previous term. Mathys Tel opened the scoring for the hosts at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium but after the forward had given away a penalty in the second half, up stepped Calvert-Lewin to earn the Whites a deserved point.

Action from Elland Road gets underway at 12.30pm.

The view from inside the camp:

Speaking exclusively to Premeir League Studios, Jayden Bogle said: "I think you have to be respectful of the fact that they're a big club with fantastic players. But again, it's so early in the league. Everyone's close together. You can't really pay too much attention to league position at the moment. We're full of confidence. I'm sure they'll be full of confidence. I think it'll be a good game." Read the full interview here.

Stadium redevelopment updates:

Due to the redevelopment of the West Stand at Elland Road, there will be a significant change to the way West Stand ticket holders will access the stadium on matchdays throughout the 2026/27 season.

The main West Stand Gate on Elland Road (next to Howard’s) will now be the main access point for away fans only. This will also be the only access point for home supporters with tickets in areas C15, C16 & C17 when an away team fails to sell their full allocation and supporters with designated accessible tickets in the South Stand Lower area FA6. No other supporters will be able to access the West Stand via this route.

All general admission West Stand ticket holders (with the exception of the above) will enter through Entrances 4, 5, and 6. You can access these areas via Gate 4 from Lowfields Road (North East Corner), Gate 2 on Bobby Collins Way (behind the North Stand), or Gate 1 from Bobby Collins Way (North West Corner). The latest FPL advice from Fantasy Football Scout:

Ethan Ampadu’s (£5.3m) consistency in FPL last season made him an excellent differential pick. He started 35 games, which was the most of any Leeds player. The skipper also racked up a total of 134 points, which was bettered only by Dominic Calvert-Lewin (£6.1m) and Anton Stach (£6.0m) within the Whites’ squad. Making up his haul, the Welshman scored one goal, assisted four, earned eight clean sheets and received 11 bonus points. He completed the most defensive actions (416) across the entirety of the Leeds squad, hitting the threshold for Defensive Contribution points in 54.3 per cent of matches. Read more here.
