Leeds United Under-21s scored a late winner against Portuguese side Sporting CP B, to secure three points in their opening Premier League International Cup clash.
The visitors went into a first half lead, but goals from Harvey Vincent and Reuben Lopata-White completed the comeback under the lights in York.
Speaking after seeing his side win the game, Scott Gardner gave his reaction.
He said: "I think we deserved the win overall with how we played, so we got what we deserved in the end.
“They didn't take much lifting because like I say barring a few moments we were very good on Monday night,” Gardner added, reflecting on his team bouncing back to defeat in the previous game against Crystal Palace.
“Again, I thought we were very good tonight so it's just every week we seem to be building a little bit more and more, so I'm really pleased with them.
The U21s boss finished by discussing Lopata-White’s winning goal.
“He’s a big player, physically, so needs to dominate both boxes more and he's popped up at the end with a really important goal for us.”
