Nethermoor Park awaits on Friday evening for Leeds United Under-21s who will take on Stockport County Under-21s in the Premier League Cup.
The tie in Guiseley will be the Whites’ third fixture in the competition to date, having drawn with Stoke City in the opener before falling to a narrow defeat at Charlton Athletic last time around.
Scott Gardner’s side go into the match having picked up important senior experience in the last two outings, beginning with an enthralling 4-3 victory over Sky Bet League One side Barnsley in the EFL Trophy.
Versatile midfielder Callum Mills netted a hat-trick for United in that one, alongside a first-half Josh McDonald header, to seal a memorable win over the Tykes at Oakwell.
Then, a much more youthful team travelled to Tamworth on National League Cup duties but came away from the Midlands empty handed after a narrow 1-0 defeat.
Stockport began their Group I campaign with a 2-1 loss on home soil to Charlton before dismantling Stoke 4-0, with Joe Astles and Che Gardner both grabbing a brace.
The teams met in the group stages of the competition two seasons ago. Rhys Chadwick was on target at York’s LNER Community Stadium as the Whites ran out 3-1 winners.
Action from Nethermoor Park gets underway at 7pm.
