Back amongst the goals with two penalties – one in regular time and one in the shootout – was Dominic Calvert-Lewin, helping Leeds United to an Emirates FA Cup quarter-final victory over West Ham United.

In what was a memorable encounter in the capital, the Whites ultimately prevailed at the death, with the England international thrilled to have played his part.

“Obviously it is no secret that I missed my last one against Palace away, so it was a big moment for me to make sure I put it away properly,” the striker told TNT Sports.

“I have been practising in training, just drilling it. When you miss one, you want to make sure you go through your processes again. I have my process and I knew where I was going this time and just stuck to it and put it away.

“I had a good feeling that, particularly before I came on, that there was going to be chances and opportunities to make an impact.

“I think when you are on the pitch and they have got the ball and I am kind of up front watching, just trying to get position, all I am thinking is just I hope they don’t score, you know? So, I was just focussed on scoring and stopping them from scoring.”

Looking ahead to a mouthwatering final four clash with Chelsea under Wembley’s iconic arch, Calvert-Lewin added: “It is always going to be a difficult match. Good side but it is the FA Cup.

“I have lost my voice a little bit! But yeah, excited. I have never had the opportunity to play at Wembley for a club before so for me it was a big, big chance today. Thankfully we stuck in there and got the win.”
